Murat Kürüz was born in 1960. He graduated from Mimar Sinan Fine Arts Academy in İstanbul, with a degree in Decorative Arts Ceramics branch.
Kürüz started drawing in Turkey’s renowned caricature magazines “Gırgır” and “Fırt” when he was 17 years old. In 1985, he went on to found the famous Turkish caricature magazine: Leman (also known as: Limon) with his 4 colleagues. Alongside his works in magazines, he started drawing political cartoons in one of Turkey’s prominent newspapers: “Sabah”.
He produced the first Turkish animation movie later on in his life, when he stopped working with caricature and started focusing his career in Television. He held 6 exhibitions both in Turkey and internationally for his oil on canvas paintings. They were exhibited in art galleries in Florida, Moscow, Luxemburg and Paris throughout the years.
