Hakan Poyraz —
— By bringing his private, yet typically urban, challenges of longing for intimacy on his thematic agenda, he makes of his street-art inspired works suggestive testimony of a 21st-century urban man.
Hakan Poyraz was born in 1986 in Ulm, Germany, where he later attended the BEVA Atelier-Kunstschule. In 2011 he completed Media Design vocational education at German newspaper Südwest Presse. He studied at the University of Applied Sciences in Augsburg, Bavaria, and participated in the Erasmus program at the Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University in Istanbul.
He studied at the University of Applied Sciences in Augsburg, Bavaria, before receiving a scholarship to Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University in Istanbul.
During his time at BEVA Poyraz acquainted himself with multiple art techniques and he has now created his own style integrating graffiti, stencil art, graphic design, photography, and dripping techniques.
Poyraz uses plexiglass instead of traditional canvases as he feels it gives an added brilliance to the spray painted colors in his works.
