Romain Jean Maurice Arnette: INVERSION —
31/5 — 1/7 2012
Arnette adopts differing mediums in his works such as silkscreen, video, photography and sound. His work derives from experimentations with these different mediums. He often incorporates various techniques
with one another - much like the very process of layering in silkscreen. The process that combines these
experimentations extends his work through layers, where each layer implies a motion towards the other.
Fascinated in reverse engineering, he often combines structural process where his material’s
potential and function are manipulated to an extent where they form hybrid processes within
unique entities, the work composes relations that are almost symmetrically balanced.
Romain Jean Maurice Arnette is a French visual and sound artist. After studying Art and Communication in Paris, he pursued his studies at Central Saint Martin’s School of Art and Design in London. He continues his work and research in Brussels.
